Online lecture by Hopeful for FDC students

On July 4, 2025, Hopeful — the Disaster Education School — delivered an online lecture to students of the Executive Master of Public Administration (MPA) program at Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC), live from Tecnopuc in Porto Alegre. The activity was part of the course on climate change and resilience, offering participants a deep dive into the challenges of modern risk management.

The lecture, led by Hopeful’s founder Abner de Freitas, featured key civil protection milestones (such as the 1584 Ceva flood), recent disaster data like the 2024 floods in Southern Brazil, and the transformative power of education in building resilient communities. It combined theory, practice, and case studies to foster a dynamic discussion with participants.
